Horrible Things I Wonder About at 4am

SO.... If Pompeii was such a pit of sex and debauchery....

AND... If the remnants of the occupants manifest themselves as molds, created by the spaces the bodies left in the ash...

ARE THERE... molds of individuals caught in flagrante delecto?

THINK ABOUT IT. A third of the businesses in that town were either brothels or bathhouses- somebody HAD to be getting it on or having one last go-giving, even with piles of ash falling from the sky.

The best part is that the brothel is the most preserved building in Pompeii.

THAT is an excellent question...and now I want to know the answer to that. lol
Do you think there's a whole cover-up around that very subject? or do they just throw a few sheets over the more debaucherous people?

Food for thought...

I would tend to think that a continuing series of significant earthquakes, burning hot pumice falling from the sky, and the city around one burning and collapsing would tend to put one off one's game. However there has been speculation about a wealthy female found in the gladiatorial barracks because gladiators were the rock stars/sex gods of the era. If you are interested in erotica/pornography from the Greco-Roman world, I have an entire coffeetable size book of the stuff. 8)

Now you know what the Doctor changed about the history of Pompeii when he let Donna badger him into saving someone from the eruption...
